WBFC #9- Hi, My Name is….

Yey, a new home and badge for the Pinay Mommy Bloggers, and now a stronger group under its new name Pinay Mommy Community.  This week  is all about getting to know each other in a more personal level, where all participants are encouraged (ehem, required!) to introduce themselves, post their pictures, and share a few bits about their respective blogs.

So let’s get on with it then.

Hi, my name is Anna Theresa Samaniego-Baron (don’t mean to startle you with such a long name) but you can call me Anne for short.  Here’s a few not so known to the blogging world facts about me.

1. Darly which I use as a pen name, is actually a term of endearment I share with my husband.  Its our un-cheesy and unique version of Darling- which eventually was also used by our respective families to refer to hubby and me.
2. I am an expat mom and wifey, residing in the sunny city of Dubai, UAE and been here with my side of the family since 2004
3. Both my children (Althea Ingrid and Alphonso Inigo) were conceived and born here
4. I work as a Sr. Lease Administrator for Majid Al Futtaim Properties who owns the biggest  chain of shopping mall here in the middle east, including Ski Dubai, Carrefour and Cinestars.
5. A hopeful SAHM/WAHM who wishes to earn as much but at the comforts of my home and in the company of my kids
6. I love adventures, travelling and trying out things ive never done before
7. A good cook and baker (according to my family and very close friends, lol), a wide reader, loves to cross-stitch and do manual crafts
8. Used to be a highschool history teacher (for almost 5 years), but had to give it up for greener pasture and to be with my darly- yet i still have the passion for teaching and dreams of running my own pre-school someday

Anyways, I started blogging in the year 2007 with the aim of documenting my pregnancy with my eldest child.  I stopped for a while after giving birth and only became active again after a year of hiatus.  Apart from having fun in joining memes and learning infos online,  Blogging for me is a great way to spend the elusive “me time” and a constructive vessel to express a piece of myself. And above all, being the third media, this is the new “it” in earning money without leaving your house and yourself only as your own boss.  As of date, ive got two babies; the I Love Darly and Food and Passion blogs which im now gearing up to monetize, and hopefully (like most mommy bloggers I know) be a source of income for my family.

Thanks to the expertise of mommy bloggers here at PMC- im picking up loads and loads of tips on how to be successful in making my hopes come true.
